V I S I O N  &  V A L U E S

In John 4:23-34 (MSG), Jesus offers a clear picture of what He is looking for from us in worship:

"Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth."

My vision as a worship pastor is to develop healthy teams that provide opportunities for people to engage in worship and experience God in life transforming ways.

Jesus' words from John 4 set the tone to drive this vision forward with the following purpose and values:

WORSHIP PURPOSE

To engage our hearts in the pursuit of Jesus

WORSHIP VALUES

Prepare

"God takes the time to do everything right - everything."

- Isaiah 30:18 (MSG)

Engage

"Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God. The best invitation we ever received!"

- 2 Peter 1:3 (MSG)

Pursue

"Jesus said, '"Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence." This is the most important, the first on any list.'"

- Matthew 22:37-38 (MSG)

Expect

"God can do anything, you know - far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us."

- Ephesians 3:20 (MSG)

While developing these values through prayer, I learned that their acronym, PEPE, is a name of Hebrew origin meaning "Jehovah Increases"... how cool is that?! More of Jesus! Yes, please!! This sums up my heart for worship ministry in the church, to lead people to encounter more of Jesus!
